Social Media Surgery 30 September at Warwick Library

There will be one of these groups meeting in Kenilworth on 16 December, but we can all go to Warwick as it's this week. It seems to be the first f it's kind. Full text from the poster reads:

If so, please come along to our free social media surgery and get one to one advice specifically tailored to your needs.

A social media surgery is a pretty informal gathering of people who want to learn how to use the web to communicate campaign or collaborate. They are deliberately relaxed. You will get to sit alongside someone who understands good ways to use the internet and they'll show you useful free tools. If you like what you see they can also help you set up your blog, or Facebook page or Twitter account. Most social media surgeries have an event every few weeks, so you can keep coming back for help.

If you are from a community or voluntary group and want to learn how to use the social web, please come along.

Dear All,

I am immensely proud of our school where most of our students can reach their full potential and take advantage of the wide range of extracurricular

opportunities on offer. I have reported our excellent pass rates at GCSE and A level in a previous newsletter. We truly deserve our status as a ‘High

Performing school’, particularly in view of the remarkable achievement that almost 40% of grades at GSCE in summer 2010 were either A or A*. Further to this, 10% of all grades at A level were awarded the new A* category. We are an inclusive school in which all students perform well, but we are also a school in which very able students can be ‘stretched’ to achieve their full potential.

Dear All,

A number of new teachers have started this year at Kenilworth and we extend a warm welcome to them.  Over the next few weeks, they will introduce themselves to you so that you are aware of who they are and where their specialist areas lie.  Ms Castro will be on maternity leave for the remainder of the year, and Mr Reeve will be the Assistant Headteacher responsible for behaviour management and pastoral care in her absence.  

Kenilworth School Extra Curricular PE Programme 2010-11

Here are all the Kenilworth School and Sports College before school, lunchtime and after school Clubs for 2010-11. This table appeared in the first school newsletter on 10th September 2010.

Everyone from Year 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 has the opportunity to enjoy: Basketball, Dance, Fitness, Football, Hockey, Orienteering, Netball, Rugby, Table Tennis, Trampolining, X Country and Young Leaders.

Mr Cassell tells us, 'Cheerleading and Ski Fitness will be added later in the year All pupils are welcome to attend any of the sports clubs. Pupils must wear the correct kit for the activity.If you have any questions please ask in the PE office. Some clubs will be added at a later date'.

Dear All,

Welcome back to all students, parents and staff, and in particular a warm welcome to our Year 7 students who seem to have settled in very well indeed.  I am positive that the year ahead will be a successful one, building on our recent successes.

I would like to congratulate all of our students who sat their GCSE and A level examinations in the summer.  We are very proud of their achievements. This summer, our pupils achieved a record number of GCSE passes.  An outstanding 79% of students achieved 5 A* - C passes including English and Maths, and 84% achieved 5 A* - C passes overall.  Almost all students achieved 5 A – G passes and an impressive 40% of all exams taken resulted in A* or A grades.
