High Speed Rail Noise played at Conservative Party Local Conference

HS2 protestors gathered at Chesford Grange this morning to make their voices (and the noise of a High Speed Train) heard in preparation for Eric Pickles and Caroline Spelman to speak (Coventry Telegraph 10 Feb 10).

This short video was recorded by wiK at 11.00 this morning showing the HS2 campaign playiung the noise of a HS2 train.

  1. What a load of tripe. Do the idiots who have their hands on the volume control really think the rest of the UK don't know about volume controls. Yes, a High Speed Train is louder than a normal train but many complex factors, not least distance and mitigation measures, will effect the amount of noise heard by those along the intended HS2 route. There is no such thing as an 'average' High Speed Train sound level.
As a sound engineer myself, I could make my lawn mower sound louder than a High Speed Train if I so wished! It's called 'Amplification'.
Sorry Stop HS2 protesters, you clearly have little understanding over HS2 and complex sound issues. This silly stunt of yours reminds me of 'Spinal Tap', does your volume control also go up to eleven instead of ten!
