Jobs, Opportunities and Ideas

whatisinKenilworth.com has a Google Place Page which has received 10,790 visits in the last 30 days - that's 360 a day. Every time someone types Job Centre into Google in the Kenilworth area whatsinKenilworth is dislpayed. There is no doubt, this site has been reporting the impending cuts in the Youth Service, Libraries and Police in the last month. But, it's vital that we exploit whatever prospects the region has to offer from now on.

Finding any job is proving very difficult. I am now launching jobs@whatsinKenilworth.com where employers can advertise their Kenilworth Jobs - so if you have a vacancy get in touch. From my research in the last few months, there is so much promise, but little delivery from some jobsites. The CV farming idea is fine (send us your CV and we will match with suitable employers idea), but if the vacancies are seldom there, then the exercise can be a costly waste of time.

If you think your job may not be that safe or if you have already been made redundant - then what do you do next? There are opportunities out there, but everywhere you look - the advice bank is shrinking. Only, today Start Up Britain has been launched by Number10 - worthwhile? Far too early to say.

My advice, start a blog, start a website and produce an online portfolio. All this can be done for free. I am in the process of finalising some resources that can help if you are new to creating your online presence. This will help to Get Sharp with Google, organise some Help Sessions and provide some real Hot Desking in Kenilworth. whatsinKenilworth.com is such a blog created by Google's Blogger. You can have one too.

I am interested in hearing from anyone from people on their own, already has a small business or some who has an established online presence and wants to share. email: jobs@whatsinKenilworth.com or leave a comment.
