WANTED for a HANGOUT Any News and Media people from the UK to take part in a hangout discussion which may lead to live broadcasts from their networks.

It seems the UK is quiet, while stateside is in full swing with shows from KOMU-TV's +Sarah Hill. So, if you are a News Anchor, Journalist or a Producer, why not join the hangout and see what we can create here in the UK. [If I am wrong and missed all the UK Media News Hangouts...please let me know].

Mike Downes  -  From all the other posts about KOMU TV, we have +Claire Wardle and +LJ Rich who want to hangout. Any more UK people. From tiny Acorns and all that... Will use this post as a notice board for adding your names to the list..

Mike Downes  -  +John Hood It took me a few days to tidy the house, think about which room to use and then change my mind about 5 times... then watched a +Trey Ratcliff and +Lisa Bettany hangout on youtube and he said something about not being shy and just doing it.

Then, I hungout with a few Googlers and saw lead hangout engineer +David Bennett having his laptop on his kitchen table and he was wandering around eating and making toast.

From there, it really kicked into place and people are all over the place. I was in a hangout on Wolf Mountain with the Fire Ranger the other Sunday evening. Just so exciting. I have a standard laptop, built in webcam, nothing special, a few headset mics.

Some of the guys n girls in the states have these condenser mics in full studios..

Mike Downes  -  +John Hood I was chatting the other day... chap says he joined a hangout and said, 'Hi Guys..' He was then told to shut up... as they were all watching a movie. When you have a go, there is a green PUSH TO TALK button at the base of the youtube as it auto mutes your mic, nice feature.

Mike Downes  -  +John Hood I have sat with a webcam on my laptops for a few years.. unused until now. Seems in the last few weeks, it seems, sit down..check emails etc and see who is around on hangouts, then it became seconds nature in days.

Steve Blamey  -  +John Hood I think hangouts would be great for us since we fail to be in the same physical location so often ;) I was just looking at getting a new webcam and headset for skype so I'll let you know when and we can fire up a hangout to test things out.
